Vintage Crown Trifari 1960s Stunning Plique a Jour Peacock Necklace Long Gold 60s Statement Jewelry Gold Chain Fringe Poured Enamel

This stunning vintage 1960s Crown Trifari necklace features a beautiful plique a jour peacock pendant with long gold chain fringe. The entire length of the pendant is 7" (17.8 cm), and it is 2 1/2" wide at the widest part (6.4 cm). The neck chain is three strands of gold chain and is 21" long (53.4 cm) and has a spring ring clasp. Plique-à-jour (French for "letting in daylight") is a vitreous enamelling technique where the enamel is applied in cells, similar to cloisonné, but with no backing in the final product, so light can shine through the transparent or translucent enamel, giving the effect of stained glass. The Crown Trifari signature is both on the back of the pendant and on the back of the bail. All the enamelling is in place and beautiful, and the necklace is in excellent vintage condition. Gorgeous piece!
